Dinner...

Okay, so the pasta sauce wasn't really the best idea....

Like father, like son...

So much for the AAP recommendation not to expose children to television before 2.

Radio Mishap...

My ears are ringing. Loudly. I can't even begin to imagine how much Bailey and Logan's ears must be spinning.

I did a very bad thing this morning. I went to the bathroom. Ridiculously, I thought, "I'll just be a minute, and Dan's on his way home. I'll just leave them in the living room, they'll be fine."

Last time I think something like that....

Something sounded like an bomb exploding. But, instead of stopping, the sound kept going. And going. And going.

I frantically ran into the living room.

Bailey and Logan were clutching each other and shaking. Logan was screaming at the top of his lungs. Not that I could actually hear him scream. But his face was red, he was shaking, and his mouth was wide open. I could see Bailey mouthing, "mommy, mommy, help. I sorry, mommy."

Bailey had managed to open the tv stand (so much for child locks) and had accidentally turned the radio all the way up, so my mom's CD was blasting through the house.

Poor babies. Bad mommy.

Happy Halloween!

The kids did great this halloween! Logan mostly sat in his stroller, and short of yelling, "daa daa daa daaa" whenever Dan was out of sight, expressed no interst in the entire thing.

Bailey, on the other hand, thought whatever was going on was the most fun she's ever had! She quickly got into the habit of "knock on dor" (knocking on the door), and loved the atention. Of course, she had no idea what we said when we said, "take one candy." So, she'd take one and put it into her bag, then she'd grab another and look up at whomever was holding the bowl. She was just so darn cute that they kept letting her grab piece after piece. We're going to have candy from now till Christmas.

In other updates.. nothing much here. Bailey is repeating EVERY WORD that anyone says, for better or worse. Yesterday, she told me, "sdinky, need baff" ("I'm stinky and need a bath.") and today, she started crawling around on the ground and wagging her kitty cat tail, telling dan, "ha ha, b so funnyy" (bailey is so funny). She loves to be told she's pretty.

Logan hates to be left alone. He is going through a stage of screaming when someone leaves them room, then laughing until they reenter. Poor baby. :-(

This is NOT what I ordered...

We went to the mall late tonight, browsing for cooler weather clothes for the babies and costumes for halloween. By the time we got done, both kids were fussy, I was tired and no one felt like making dinner. So, we decided just to eat at the mall foodcourt.

We got Bailey and Logan an order of Chic Fil A chicken nuggets and fries, and dan got lo-meign from the chinese food place.

Logan SCREAMED. He screamed and screamed and screamed. His whole face was red, tears were running down his cheeks, and no matter what I did, he wouldn't stop. He would put a chicken nugget in his mouth, then pull it out and scream. I'd put the fry in his mouth, and he'd pull it out and scream. I'd give him his bottle, and he'd scream even louder. He's had chicken nuggets and fries before -- not often, but he has had them. Bailey gets them rarely, she views them as a special treat when she's eaten all her meals for a few days at a time.

By this point, the people sitting around us were getting impatient, and Dan realized that there was a good chance I was going to scream, too. So, Dan picked Logan up and held him.

Logan instantly grabbed fistfulls of the lomeigh noodles and shoved them in his mouth. The screaming stopped. He slurped up the noodles whole and swallowed them, almost without chewing.

Obviously, the chicken was just not what he had ordered...

Who ate the apple?

Somehow, we ended up with half a bushel (bushle? bushal? I have no idea, really..) of apples. I'm pretty sure my mom ordered them from my goddaughter, possibly for a
4H project.

Anyway, so, we have this half a bushel of orchard fresh apples. No idea what we're going to DO with them all... maybe we'll make apple butter and can it... not that we really know how to do that.

Today, Bailey was eating eggs for breakfast. For the last two days, the child has been extraordinarily hungry. I mean, starving. Yesterday, she ate three adult-sized meals and two snacks, plus icecream for dessert.

She told me about half an hour into eating her eggs and toast "mommii, alll don." So I got her out of her little booster seat. As I was cleaning up, I noticed that someone ate bites of an apple, then put it back.

I asked her if she wanted to eat the apple, she said, "uhhn-uhh!" I asked if she'd taken bites of the apple, then put it back. She let out a string of baby babble, ending with, "yoki dooiinn'".

Riiigghhhttt... Logan ate the apple. Not that he wouldn't if given half a chance, but he doesn't have enough teeth.

I guess stolen apples are sweeter...

Swimming in a Sea of Mac and Cheese..

Bailey loves to take things in and out of boxes. And envelopes. And folders. Really, she just likes to take things out and put them in -- over and over again.

Today, she found the two cases of Mac and Cheese on the couch, and proceeded to unpack them.

And Logan got his first graham cracker from his sister. It was picture-worthy, as it seemed to be nearly as big as he.
